About
Cloud Collective Residency is built with love for collective liberation.
Our mission is to support, connect, and encourage creatives; promote the joy and wonder accessed through creative expression; and cultivate an ideal of working “alone, together”: each of us giving the other the nurturing support, space, and encouragement needed to cultivate our particular visions so that, collectively, we may flourish within them all.
Meg Winnecour is an artist, writer, longtime educator, and the heart of Cloud Collective Residency. For over two decades, she has dedicated herself to creating spaces that support deep creative work, soulful connection, and personal transformation. With a background in teaching and a lifelong devotion to the creative process, Meg brings warmth, curiosity, and a fiercely nurturing spirit to everything she does.
Meg first dreamed up Cloud Collective while teaching art in a big public high school, imagining a quiet, cozy nest where creatives could work “alone, together”. At Cloud Collective, Meg’s lifelong dream has taken root: a place where people can return to themselves, create with courage, and be nurtured by the joyful presence of creative community.

Family
The Winnecour family has always been committed to living close to nature and being grounded in authenticity and wonder. They have lived in Asheville for over 25 years.
Josh, Meg’s husband, is a nurse, health coach, and longtime outdoor educator who brings wisdom and care to everything he does. Juniper, their daughter, is a dancer, writer, and artist who keeps her parents curious and connected to what’s happening in the world.
Some of their greatest joys include cooking and sharing meals, spending time together making art, reading, hiking, and gathering curious, kind people around their table.
What We Believe
At Cloud Collective Residency, we believe that a thriving creative space must reflect a wide range of voices, backgrounds, and perspectives. Diversity, equity, and inclusion aren’t goals we’re chasing—they’re essential foundations for meaningful collaboration and artistic growth. When each person feels welcomed, supported, and free to show up fully as themselves, creativity flourishes for everyone.
